A compelling and engaging collection of compositions and musical gifts from a unique, new voice in songwriting. The songs speak of broad human themes of love, justice, faith, action, discipleship and mission, but which also add to and expand the global repertoire with specifically Danish angles and insights.
Janne is from Denmark, a church musician and one of Europe’s most compelling new hymnwriters. We in WGRG have had the pleasure of getting to know her over two conferences, first on Iona in 2016 and then in Glasgow in 2017.
At both of these events, she performed a selection of her songs – many from this collection – to the delight of her listeners.
60 mins running time
weeWONDERBOX’s flagship urban festival, ColumbaFest, returns to Glasgow city centre on June 8th-10th, 2018. Our theme: ’Dreams & Visions’ … on what makes ‘prophecy’ today.
Expect live music and spoken word, workshops, walks, talks and worship led by a fantastically diverse group of contributors. See below for names and short descriptions by day. More to be confirmed soon.
Prophets often come from the margins, challenging our complacent worldview with a startling new perspective. We will be asking – where are the prophets today? What are they saying? And are we listening to them?
We will draw inspiration from the life of St Columba, the biblical prophets, and contemporary politics to challenge ourselves to engage with the most pressing issues of social justice in our society.
Come for a day, an evening, or for the entire weekend … details of Weekend Passes can be found on the Ticket /Box Office page here here (also includes Day only and Evening only options).
