IN THIS HOUR (BK)
Liturgies for pausing
In this hour… … we celebrate life, the city, a child, the world around us, our skills and gifts… we grieve our losses, our failures, the damage we do and the pain it inflicts… we pause to remember who we are, and reflect on the coming of Christ… we find our God, wherever we are, whoever we are… we prepare for the next challenge God opens up before us.
This collection of liturgies offers opportunities to pause, to focus and reflect on some aspect of life, and to move on in a different way. It includes a series of meditations for Advent, which explore the pain as well as the joy that Christmas can bring, and liturgies Dorothy McRae-McMahon has created in response to the lives of the people around her.
Dorothy McRae-McMahon is an old friend of WGRG and a minister of the Uniting Church in Australia. Her collections of prayers and liturgies are well-loved across many denominations.
