I000 Eejit

In stock

English translation: ‘one who sadly lacks some quality, ability or processing capacity somewhere (though in 95% of cases) at a height of between 4 and 6 feet above ground level’.

Note: in its original occurrence, this endearment could never be termed ‘size-ist’, as it is commonly accepted that it was not until the 1950s that any member of the Scottish populace was fortunate enough in their lifetime to ingest sufficient nutrients to enable their vertical dimensions to exceed the combined height of four and a half budgies (medium sized/ green).

Literal: a composite of ‘ee’ (as in double prefix synonymous with varied common food additives) and ‘jit’ (initial, and as it turned out, ridiculous proposal for the domestic cleaning product, now appearing on supermarket shelves under the trade name of ‘cif’).

April 2008.
