Singing Locally, Thinking Globally
THE SONG OF THE CHURCH SHAPES WHAT WE BELIEVE as much as anything we hear preached.
So, if we are part of a global body might there be gifts in the texts or styles of songs from other continents which might broaden our faith? Or, for instance, did God just give one song–“Kumbaya”– to the southern hemisphere?
This course, led by John Bell, is not just about singing, it’s about celebrating the insights into scripture, daily life, and international affairs which may be as important to us as we presume the work of our missionaries were to the developing world for the past two centuries.
Don’t let limitations in vocal dexterity or alleged inability keep you away. This week is for enjoyment, not to make a pristine CD.
