weeWONDERBOX: The Wee Social Box
December 16, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The Wee Social Box is a monthly opportunity for folk to get together regularly in relaxed, informal mode to meet, chat, hang-out and generally both be entertained – and entertain ourselves – along with other lovely souls.
The concept is that it’s a drop-in event. So folk can feel free to come and go, staying for some or all of the time. It’ll be family-friendly, with games and activities, occasional performances of songs, sketches, poetry, films, sing-around ceilidh-ing and other lovely nonsense.
In short, it’ll be a time to have some gentle fun and enjoy time in other folks’ company.
Broadly, the shape of the evening will be as follows:
- The first hour or so (7.00-8.00) with games – board and parlour (even some panel) games;
- Then the middle section (8.00-9.00) will feature some entertainment – with performances, poetry, sketches, short films and the like;
- The concluding period (9.00-10.00) will feature a ceilidh – as in the original meaning of the word – a sing-around and sharing of communal contributions.
This is the general, initial concept. We can change and shape things as we all wish.
Refreshments will be available.
We hope you can come, for as long or short a time as suits.
See the weeWONDERBOX 2016-17 listings page for more information about this and other events.
Cost: Free (though donations welcomed)
Venue: 21 Carlton Court, Glasgow, Scotland G5 9JP, Scotland.
RSVP: If you can let us know you’re coming, that would be very helpful for planning (see below to do this) … but, there’s no obligation to do so. Just dropping-in is also most fine.
