Poetry for Advent

December 2 @ 7:00 pm - December 3 @ 8:30 pm

As Advent arrives, join a retreat exploring poetry – well-known and not-so-well known; poetry that flexes muscles of celebration, resistance, doubt, desire and belief. No previous poetry experience required, and we will use the poems as a jumping-off point for the stories of our lives.

Fri 2 Dec 7pm-9pm & Sat 3 Dec 10am-4pm, 7pm-8.30pm.

PLEASE REGISTER FOR THIS RETREAT THROUGH EVENTBRITE HERE.

Includes Saturday lunch.
Suggested donation £50, but please give what is manageable.

Pádraig Ó Tuama is a poet and a theologian from Ireland. He’s led Advent retreats with the Wild Goose Resource Group for the last three hundred years. He is the author, most recently, of Poetry Unbound; 50 Poems to Open Your World (Canongate, 2022), and presents the podcast Poetry Unbound.

This retreat is part of Watchful Waiting – collective moments for Advent 2022 offered by the Iona Community. More details here.
